£1,500 - £1,800
Audio Technica AT-RMX64 6 Channel Cassette Recorder - Mint "New Old Stock". A remarkable find as these are very uncommon in any condition. They were considered the king of the multitrack cassette recorders, and cost a lot more new than the Tascam line did back in late 80s/90s.
NOTE: ITEM IS LOCATED IN THE USA WHICH MAY HAVE SHIPPING AND TAX IMPLICATIONS FOR THE BUYER - please ask if you have any questions.
This was bought from the original owner who bought it for his studio new, and used it twice before going back to his Tascam 388 about 25 years ago.
The seller is a tech and has been through the entire unit electronically, mechanically and it’s good to go.
The (very cool) specs of this machine are:
- Neotek engineer designed the preamp channels, Sweepable Peak/Dip and Shelving Low and High EQ (This is the best sounding preamp for the cassette era)
- Balanced XLR, 1/4” and RCA Inputs
- 4 Sub Outputs (XLR, 1/4”, RCA)
- 6 Channel input (4 track record/play head)
- 3 Motor Direct Drive (Two Speed 1&7/8 , 3&3/4 IPS)
- Another cool feature, was the ability to play normal stereo cassettes, as well through the pitch control push/pull pot
- Has the OEM soft travel case plus the two original manuals (one isn’t even scanned online).
